Vashtorr the Arkifane is a powerful entity in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. He is a demi-god and a patron of inventors, engineers, scientists, and artisans.

Vashtorr is empowered by acts of curiosity and innovation, and some believe he was created during an ancient galaxy-spanning war or the Dark Age of Technology. He is the lord of the Forge of Souls and trades souls for Daemonic weaponry.

Unlike most entities in the universe, Vashtorr rarely lies or conceals his true objectives. He maintains his own sphere of influence and a unique role within the Warp. Vashtorr seeks to become the fifth Chaos God in his own right and has entered into an alliance with Abaddon the Despoiler.

During the Arks of Omen Campaign, he led an invasion of The Rock, the Fortress-Monastery of the Dark Angels, to obtain a Key-Fragment. However, his plans were thwarted by Be’lakor, his rival.

Vashtorr’s activities have attracted the attention of other Daemons, and his techno-daemonic monstrosities have made him the premier arms dealer for the armies of the Great Game.

Despite his power, Vashtorr is dissatisfied with his status and seeks to become a Chaos God. His quest for power continues, and he is devising new plans focused around the Somnium Stars.
