In the ranks of the Dark Angels, few names command as much respect and fear as Asmodai, the Master of Repentance. His daunting task is to extract confessions from the Fallen, those who have deviated irredeemably from the teachings of Lion El’Jonson. Asmodai’s approach to this sacred duty is marked by an intense zeal, making him a figure of awe within the chapter.
On the battlefield, Asmodai’s presence is nothing short of a tempest of divine wrath. He wields the mighty sword Catechist and the imposing crozius Censure, symbols of his unyielding faith and authority. His mere presence bolsters the spirits of his brethren, driving them forward with a mix of inspiration and fear, as he relentlessly pursues the leaders of the enemy forces.
The Asmodai model offers a range of customization options to bring this iconic character to life. Hobbyists can select from two distinct headpieces – a mysterious hooded version or one graced with a halo, symbolizing his holy wrath. Additionally, two backpack designs are available, including one that creates an enigmatic, smoke-like effect. These options not only add to the model’s visual appeal but also allow for a personalized representation of Asmodai on the tabletop.
This Warhammer 40,000 box set is more than just a model; it’s a piece of the storied history of the Dark Angels, offering both a challenging and rewarding experience for painters and collectors alike. Discover more about the Space Marines and their numerous chapters here.

How to paint Asmodai
- Step 1: Prime Your Miniature
Begin by priming your Asmodai model with Chaos Black or any other primer of your choice. This creates a smooth surface for the paint to adhere to.
- Step 2: Basecoat the Model
Apply a basecoat of paint to Asmodai’s armor and robes. For the armor, use a black color like Abaddon Black to achieve the iconic Dark Angels look. For the robes, you can use a green color like Caliban Green or any other preferred shade of green.
- Step 3: Highlight the Armor and Robes
Using a lighter shade of black like Eshin Grey, carefully apply highlights to Asmodai’s armor. For the robes, use a brighter green shade like Warpstone Glow to add highlights, focusing on the edges and raised areas for added depth.
- Step 4: Paint the Details
Next, paint the other details on the model using suitable colors. For the metallic elements, you can use a metallic color like Leadbelcher or any other silver shade that you prefer. Additionally, you can use other Citadel paints for smaller details, such as gemstones or insignias.
- Step 5: Add Final Touches
With a fine brush, add any final touches to the model, such as adding finer highlights or patterns on the armor and robes. These details will make your Asmodai model stand out even more on the tabletop.
- Step 6: Varnish and Protect
To preserve your masterpiece, apply a protective layer of varnish over the entire model. This will safeguard the paint job and prevent any damage over time.
