How to paint the Kill Team: Kommandos set

  1. Step 1: Basecoat
Begin by applying a basecoat of a suitable color, such as a dark green like Waaagh! Flesh or a similar shade, to the main body of the Kommandos. Use a medium-sized brush to ensure smooth and even coverage.
  2. Step 2: Skin Details
Add depth and texture to the Orks’ skin by applying a wash like Agrax Earthshade to the recessed areas. This will enhance the shadows and bring out the natural contours of their faces and exposed skin.
  3. Step 3: Clothing and Accessories
Paint the clothing and accessories of the Kommandos using various colors of your choice. For example, you can use colors like Mephiston Red for clothing, Skrag Brown for leather accessories, and Leadbelcher for metallic elements. Apply these colors with care to ensure neat and clean lines.
  4. Step 4: Weapon Details
Paint the weapons of the Kommandos using suitable colors. For example, you can use colors like Abaddon Black for blades, Balthasar Gold for gun casings, and a metallic color like Ironbreaker for gun barrels. Apply these colors with precision to highlight the details and create a realistic appearance.
  5. Step 5: Ork Glyphs and Symbols
Add Ork glyphs and symbols to the Kommandos using contrasting colors, such as white or bone colors like Ushabti Bone. Paint these markings carefully, focusing on creating legible and visually striking designs.
  6. Step 6: Details and Fine-tuning
Add additional details to the models, such as teeth, eyes, and tattoos, using suitable colors. Take your time and use a small brush for precision. Fine-tune any mistakes or areas that need touch-ups.
  7. Step 7: Basing
Paint the base of each model to match your desired theme or battlefield environment. Apply texture using sand or small rocks and paint it accordingly. Enhance the base further by adding grass tufts or other scenic elements for a finished look.
  8. Step 8: Varnish
Once you are satisfied with your paint job, protect it by applying a layer of varnish. This will ensure the longevity of your work and protect it from wear and tear. Choose a matte, gloss, or satin varnish based on your preferred finish.
