The terrifying Chaos Spawn: grotesque monstrosities driven by their own insatiable ambition, their minds and bodies ravaged by the potent blessings – or curses – of the Dark Gods. Reduced to contorted masses of muscle and mutated limbs, these abominations are either coerced into battle by their former brethren or surge forward independently, inflicting their tormented existence upon unsuspecting foes with unnatural strength.

Crafted from multipart plastic, this kit offers an exceptional opportunity to construct two Chaos Spawn – pitiable souls overwhelmed by grotesque mutation. Prepare to be astounded by the staggering array of interchangeable components and optional extras that allow you to fully customize these creatures. With over a dozen repulsive heads and aberrant arms to choose from, as well as an abundance of spikes, tentacles, extra eyeballs, and other nightmarish mutations, you have the power to bring forth the Chaos Spawn of your most terrifying dreams!

Embracing the dark forces of Chaos, these abominations find their place among the ranks of Chaos armies in both Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. Let their presence strike fear into the hearts of all who dare to face them on the battlefield.

How to paint the Chaos Spawn set

  1. Step 1: Prime your Chaos Spawn
Apply a coat of Chaos Black spray primer to ensure a smooth and even base for your paint. This helps the subsequent layers adhere better and provides a solid foundation for your colors.
  2. Step 2: Basecoat the flesh
Using a medium-sized brush, apply a basecoat of Rakarth Flesh to cover the majority of the Chaos Spawn’s flesh areas. Be sure to reach all the nooks and crannies.
  3. Step 3: Highlight the flesh
With a smaller brush, add highlights to the raised areas of the flesh using Pallid Wych Flesh. Focus on areas like the muscles and protruding limbs. This will add depth and definition to the model.
  4. Step 4: Paint the mutations
Choose a contrasting color for the mutations, such as Screamer Pink. Carefully apply this paint to the tentacles, spikes, and any other mutated areas you wish to emphasize.
  5. Step 5: Wash the model
Using a wash like Reikland Fleshshade, apply a thin layer to the entire model. This will darken recesses, add depth, and give your Chaos Spawn a more grim and menacing look. Be sure to let it dry completely.
  6. Step 6: Add details
Now it’s time to paint the smaller details. Use colors like Abaddon Black for the eyes, Jokaero Orange for the tongues, and Ironbreaker for any metallic parts such as chains or weapons. Take your time and be precise.
  7. Step 7: Base the model
Apply texture paint, such as Astrogranite Debris, to the base of your Chaos Spawn. Once dry, you can add drybrushed highlights using colors like Administratum Grey for a weathered and worn look.
  8. Step 8: Varnish the model
Protect your hard work by applying a layer of varnish. This will help preserve the paint job and add a protective finish. Choose either a matte or gloss varnish based on your preference.
