How to paint the Daemonettes of Slaanesh set

  1. Step 1: Assembling the Miniatures
Start by carefully assembling your Daemonettes according to the instructions provided in the kit. Use plastic glue or super glue to join the various parts securely. Once assembled, you can prime the miniatures with a spray primer for better paint adhesion.
  2. Step 2: Basecoating
Begin by applying a basecoat to your Daemonettes. For their skin, use a light purple color like Genestealer Purple or Naggaroth Night. Apply the paint using a medium-sized brush, ensuring an even and smooth coverage. You can thin the paint slightly with water to achieve a smoother consistency if needed.
  3. Step 3: Highlighting the Skin
To add depth and definition to the Daemonettes skin, it’s time to apply highlights. Mix a small amount of white paint, like White Scar, with the basecoat color to create a lighter shade. Using a smaller brush, carefully apply this lighter color to raised areas of the skin, such as cheekbones, shoulders, and knees. This will create a subtle but effective highlighting effect.
  4. Step 4: Painting the Hair
For the Daemonettes hair, you can use a vibrant color like Emperor’s Children or Pink Horror. Apply the chosen color with a small brush, ensuring you cover all the strands. You can paint the hair in sections to make it easier. Remember to use thin coats and build up the color gradually to avoid obscuring details.
  5. Step 5: Detailing the Eyes
To bring life to the Daemonettes faces, carefully paint their eyes using a fine detail brush. Start with a dark color like Abaddon Black to fill in the eye sockets. Once dry, add a small dot of white paint, such as White Scar, in the center to represent the iris. You can then apply a tiny dot of black paint, like Abaddon Black, to complete the eyes, or you can just fully paint the eyes black and give them that classic demonic look.
  6. Step 6: Metallic Accents
For the metallic parts of the Daemonettes, such as their weapons or armor, use a metallic paint such as Leadbelcher or Ironbreaker. Apply the paint using a medium-sized brush, covering the desired areas. You can later highlight these metallic areas by adding a thin line of a brighter metallic paint, like Runefang Steel, along the edges.
  7. Step 7: Adding Details and Symbols
Now it’s time to add some extra details and symbols to make your Daemonettes truly stand out. You can use contrasting colors like Screamer Pink or Emperor’s Children for tattoos or symbols on their skin. Use a fine detail brush to carefully paint these details, taking your time to ensure precision.
  8. Step 8: Basing the Miniatures
To complete your Daemonettes, consider basing them to enhance their overall appearance. Apply texture paint or flocking materials to the base, such as Stirland Mud or Martian Ironcrust. You can also add additional elements like rocks, skulls, or grass tufts for added realism. Choose colors that complement the Daemonettes palette.
