Lieutenants act as the right hands of their Captains by providing flexibility and helping to direct their battle-brothers in engagements. Battle Companies are often split into 2 Demi-companies, each of which falls under the command of a Lieutenant who leads his brothers unflinchingly into battle. Blood Angels Lieutenants are expected to take command, should a superior officer fall to the Red Thirst, and assume the role of the Sword of Sanguinius – failure is the only unforgivable sin in this role, while victory excuses any amount of savagery.
This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble Lieutenant Tolmeron of the Blood Angels. Clad in Mk X ‘Tacticus’ power armour, Tolmeron comes with a power sword and bolt pistol – he can be modelled either holding the bolt pistol along with the power sword, or carrying the pistol in a belt-mounted holster. He’s covered in appropriate Blood Angels iconography, from the sculpted shoulder pads to the iron halo atop his backpack. You have the choice of modelling Tolmeron with either a Blood Angels helmet, or a bare head with a huge scar across the right eye.

How to paint the Blood Angels Primaris Lieutenant Tolmeron
- Step 1: Prepare the miniature
Remove any mold lines or imperfections on the miniature using a hobby knife or file. Assemble the miniature according to the instructions provided.
- Step 2: Prime the miniature
Using a black or white primer, spray the miniature to provide a good surface for the paint to adhere to. Allow the primer to dry completely.
- Step 3: Basecoat the miniature
Use a small basecoat brush to paint the armor in Mephiston Red. Be sure to paint each area neatly and with even coverage. You may need to do two thin coats to achieve a solid color.
- Step 4: Paint the details
Using a small layer brush, paint the details of the miniature. Paint the helmet and shoulder pads in Abaddon Black, the gun and other metallic parts in Leadbelcher, and the decorative parts in Balthasar Gold. Paint the sword blade in Retributor Armour.
- Step 5: Shade the miniature
Using a small layer brush, apply Agrax Earthshade to the recesses of the miniature to create shading. Apply Nuln Oil to the metallic areas to enhance the shading.
- Step 6: Highlight the miniature
Using a small drybrush, apply White Scar to the edges of the armor and other details to create highlights. Be careful to not apply too much paint.
- Step 7: Base the miniature
Using the basecoat brush, paint the base in a color of your choice. You can also add texture to the base using sand or gravel. Apply a wash of Agrax Earthshade over the base to enhance the texture.
- Step 8: Finish the miniature
Apply a coat of varnish over the miniature to protect the paint job. You can also add additional details such as decals or freehand designs if desired.
