On the TableTop

The Callidus Assassin is a master of infiltration and deception, using shape-altering drugs to blend in with any environment or guise. These deadly operatives serve as protectors of humanity, eliminating those who have been tainted by greed, treachery, or even the daemonic. The true extent of their achievements is unknown, as their exploits are not recorded, but billions of lives are believed to have been saved by their selfless actions. The Callidus Assassin operates silently and without acknowledgement, acting as the secret saviors of the Imperium.

Capable of infiltrating even the most secure facilities, the Callidus Assassin can take on the appearance of anyone, from a beautiful woman to a brutish Ork. They prefer to strike from the shadows and attack with surprise, avoiding direct confrontation. The result is often chaos, panic, and confusion, as their targets are left defenseless and vulnerable.

How to paint the Callidus Assassin Set

  1. Step 1: Prime the Miniature
Apply a thin coat of primer to the Callidus Assassin miniature. Primer helps the paint adhere better and provides a smooth surface for painting. For an accurate representation, use Chaos Black Primer.
  2. Step 2: Basecoat the Armor
Using a medium-sized brush, apply a basecoat of Abaddon Black to the entire armor. Thin the paint slightly with water or a medium to achieve smoother coverage. Apply the basecoat evenly, ensuring that the details of the miniature remain visible.
  3. Step 3: Highlight the Armor
Switch to a smaller brush and carefully apply a highlight color, like Eshin Grey, to the raised areas and edges of the armor. This step will add depth and visual interest to the miniature.
  4. Step 4: Paint the Hair
For the hair, apply a basecoat of Rhinox Hide. Then, use a small brush and carefully apply a highlight color, like XV-88 or Mournfang Brown, to create depth and texture.
  5. Step 5: Paint the Weapons
For the weapons, start by applying a basecoat of Caliban Green. Then, use Warpstone Glow to highlight the edges and details of the weapons. Add additional details like Nuln Oil for shading or edge highlights with Moot Green if desired.
  6. Step 6: Detail the Accessories
The Callidus Assassin has various accessories like belts, gadgets, and other smaller details. Use appropriate colors such as Leadbelcher for metallic parts, and Rakarth Flesh or Zandri Dust for non-metallic parts. Apply multiple thin coats and use a small brush to carefully pick out the details.
  7. Step 7: Add Finishing Touches
To complete the painting process, add finishing touches to the Callidus Assassin. Paint any visible details such as the eyes, using a small brush and a bright color like Yriel Yellow or Flash Gitz Yellow. Add additional details like freehand designs or symbols if desired. Use a fine detail brush and steady hands for these final touches.
