The Chaos Land Raiders, colossal armored transporters, embody the malevolent essence of Chaos, featuring formidable weaponry akin to battle tanks. Adorned with sinister symbols of Chaos devotion, their warp-altered armor plates and gruesome trophies collected from fallen foes, Land Raiders serve as the unstoppable vanguard in countless Chaos assaults.

This multipart plastic kit allows you to construct a Chaos Land Raider, a formidable war machine capable of transporting even Terminators into battle. The Land Raider’s imposing hull is equipped with twin heavy bolters, while adjustable sponsons on each side house twin lascannons. Additionally, it offers the option to mount a havoc launcher on the roof and select a pintle-mounted weapon, such as a combi-bolter or combi-flamer, with various gunner and hatch configurations available.

With a wealth of customization possibilities, the kit provides a range of aesthetic choices, including Chaos icons, trophy racks, chains, spikes, and corrupted plating, you are able to create a visually striking and personalized Chaos Land Raider.

How to paint the Chaos Land Raider set

  1. Step 1: Basecoat the model
Apply a basecoat of black paint to the entire model using Chaos Black, ensuring all areas are evenly covered.
  2. Step 2: Metallic details
Paint the metallic areas, such as the heavy bolters and lascannons, using Leadbelcher. Use a fine brush to carefully cover these areas, ensuring a smooth and even application.
  3. Step 3: Armor panels
Choose a primary color for the armor panels, such as Khorne Red or Thousand Sons Blue, and paint each panel with your chosen color. Use a larger brush for this step to cover larger areas more efficiently.
  4. Step 4: Trim and details
Using a smaller brush, paint the trim details, such as the edges of the armor panels, with a contrasting color. For example, use Runefang Steel for silver trim or Brass Scorpion for gold trim.
  5. Step 5: Weathering
Apply weathering effects to add depth and realism to the model. Drybrush areas with a lighter shade of the base color to create highlights, and use shades like Agrax Earthshade to add depth to recessed areas.
  6. Step 6: Chaos icons and symbols
Paint the Chaos icons and symbols on the model using colors that match your chosen Chaos Legion. For example, if you’re painting a World Eaters Land Raider, use a vibrant red (like Mephiston Red) for their iconic symbols.
  7. Step 7: Details and highlights
Add additional details and highlights to the model, such as highlighting the edges of the armor panels with a lighter shade of the base color. This step will help bring out the finer details and make the model pop.
  8. Step 8: Wash and shade
Apply washes or shades to the model to enhance shadows and add depth. For example, use Nuln Oil to shade the metallic areas and Drakenhof Nightshade for the blue areas.
  9. Step 9: Final touches
Complete the model by painting any additional details, such as the chaos spikes, trophy racks, and corrupted plating. Use appropriate colors to make these elements stand out.
  10. Step 10: Varnish
Once the paint is completely dry, apply a protective varnish to the model to protect the paint job and give it a finished look. Use a matte varnish for a more realistic appearance or a gloss varnish for a more shiny and reflective finish.
