How to paint: Infernus Marines

As you delve into the fiery depths of painting Infernus Marines, prepare to harness the power of molten colors. These fearsome warriors embody the essence of relentless determination, and your brushwork will bring their infernal might to life.

Step 1: Priming – A Strong Start

Begin by priming your Infernus Squad models with Macragge Blue spray. This will provide a solid foundation for your paint layers. Hold the spray can about 10-12 inches away from the models and apply a thin, even coat. Allow it to dry completely.

Step 2: Dark Details – Abaddon Black

Focus on the details of their weapons by painting them with Abaddon Black. Ensure precision when applying this dark color to create a striking contrast with the blue armor.

Step 3: Shining Trims – Retributor Armour

Use Retributor Armour to paint the trims and decorative elements on the models. This rich gold color will add ornate accents to their appearance.

Step 4: Crisp Symbols – White Scar

For the symbols and any other white details, such as purity seals, use White Scar. This bright white paint will make these elements stand out beautifully against the blue.

Step 5: Fiery Details – Mephiston Red

Paint the eye lenses and any other details you want to have a fiery appearance with Mephiston Red. This bold red color will give them a dynamic look.

Step 6: Layering – Calgar Blue

Layer the blue armor with Calgar Blue. Apply this paint evenly to maintain the rich blue color while adding depth and highlighting raised areas.

Step 7: Shadows and Depth – Nuln Oil

To enhance the depth and shadows of the models, apply Nuln Oil as a shade. Focus on recessed areas, such as panel lines and joints. The shade will settle in these areas, creating a more realistic look.

Step 8: Base Detail – Astrogranite or Stirland Mud

Paint the base of each model with either Astrogranite or Stirland Mud texture paint. This will create a realistic and thematic base for your Infernus Squad.

Step 9: Varnishing – Protect and Finish

To protect your beautifully painted models and give them a finished look, apply a varnish. Munitorum Varnish Spray is a suitable choice for this purpose. Apply the varnish in light, even coats, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. This will safeguard your paintwork and provide a professional finish to your Infernus Squad models.
